What these figures include and exclude

  • Every amount is an estimate of the firm's professional fees.
  • The estimates exclude disbursements, such as court filing fees and barristers' fees. Disbursements are separate.
  • An estimate is not a fixed quote or a cap. Where a matter falls in a range depends on its facts, such as how many years are involved, how much evidence there is and how far the matter runs.
  • Your costs agreement states the estimate for your matter. You receive it, with the firm's costs disclosure, before the firm acts.
  • Sean Hayes, the managing lawyer, charges $550 an hour.
  • This page is general information. It is not a quote and it is not a costs disclosure.
